Fabulous underground world

Enter the fabulous underground world of the Düppenweiler copper mine with "Mystallica". This light and sound installation uses the elements of lighting, music, sounds and texts to build a bridge between traditional mine tours and cultural or tourist leisure activities with a claim to experience and entertainment.  Education is not neglected either. Experience insights into the hard everyday work of the miners in past centuries.

In the meantime, almost 800 m of galleries in the copper mine are accessible again.

The Dom

From a certain depth, the miners also followed the ore veins in a horizontal direction.

The New Barbara Shaft

This 20-meter-deep shaft was built in 1997 especially for visitors. 80 comfortable steps make it easier for mine visitors to enter and exit the underground world.

The sea

The lake is a full blind shaft, which is named "Holy Cross Shaft.

The machine shaft

It is so named because after 1824, under the direction of the Dillinger Hütte, a machine house about 35 meters long stood above it.

Light and sound installation Mystallica

The chosen name for this light and sound installation is derived from the terms "mystical", i.e. mysterious, and "Metallica".
